Araneae Consulting was founded to help business leaders get out of overwhelm, frustration, and confusion by taking an evidence-based approach to problem solving. Its founder, Lucia Mokres, is a Consultant uniquely positioned to solve sticky challenges that require deep investigation, especially those that are creating discord, tension, or General Bad Vibes within the company. What's In a Name - ("a-rainy-eye")?
A friend of mine once returned from one of her many trips to Mexico with a gift for me: a spider, made of colorful wires and beads. She explained that it had special meaning. She had a dream, in which she was a spider. She was trying to build a web, but something kept tearing it down, so she would begin to build again, over and over. This conceptualization of resilience, determination, patience, adaptation, and reinvention reminded her of me, and she brought me the spider as a talisman.

I believe that all of these qualities are required of anyone as they strive to bring paradigm-shifting innovations to any industry.

Araneae is the taxonomic order encompassing spiders. Though I personally love spiders, I thought long and hard about whether to invoke these oft-reviled creatures in a business name. However, the meaning and opportunity for metaphor are too compelling to ignore. There are many variations on pronunciation (much like my first name), but I go with a-rainy-eye.

My friend died of breast cancer, but the legacy of her inspirational vision lives on.

Lucia Mokres, Chief Consultant founded Araneae to provide business leaders with an alternative to the formulaic approach that so many other consultancies take. In her more than 15-year career, she discovered and continues to hone her unique penchant for seeing patterns and making connections that others just do not see.
She has worked with early-stage startups to Fortune 100 companies to unravel complex, frustrating and unusual messes. Lucia has experience in executive leadership, program and project management, business solutions consulting, coaching, start-up advisory work, and clinical and medical regulatory affairs, among other niches in various industries and roles.
